Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Beat the Devil’s Tattoo

BRMCBlack Rebel Motorcycle Club- Beat the Devil’s Tattoo – Label: Vagrant Records 2010

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club formed in 1998, taking its name from Marlon Brando’s motorcycle gang in the 1953 film The Wild One bring us a new release “Beat The Devil’s Tattoo”.The band wrote and recorded most of the album at The Basement Studio in Philadelphia, PA – the same room where they wrote and recorded “Howl” as well as some work in their hometown Los Angeles. Beat The Devil’s Tattoo also marks the first album with drummer Leah Shapiro. This BRMC’s sixth studio album, Beat The Devil’s Tattoo was released on March 9th, 2010 in the US. This is a really good CD more in line with their  “Baby 81″ release than with “Howl” but still undoubtedly BRMC.  Their rock music inspired and infused with blues at the core of it all is refreshing listen although it plays a little long but that happens when you include songs like the closer “Half-State” a 10 minute long epic number.  In all another very good release from a growing and evolving band the “Black Rebel Motorcycle Club”
