MCQUEEN – Break The Silence

McQueen - Break The SilenceMcQueen  -  ”Break The Silence.” Demolition Records, 2007.

Where is McQueen? Gritty. Raw. Delicious. This English all-female rock/punk band fronted by the charismatic Leah Duors has raised the bar for the world of female rock bands. Combining equal amounts of aggression, musicianship and melody, McQueen have forged their own unique, refreshing sound. They have chosen to lead rather than emulate the musicians in their genre that came before them. Their debut album “Break the Silence” was released in 2007 to overwhelmingly positive reviews, and for good reason. The tracks “Neurotic” and “The Line Went Dead” are sure to hook your attention, and “Running Out of Things to Say” and “Numb” will reel you in.

In spite of the recent resignation of guitarist Cat de Casanove in July 2009, Both Hayley Cramer and Leah Duors have maintained that they plan to release a “killer second album” in the near future.  After listening to this record, we hope that this is so. We can’t help wanting to hear more from them!
